Panasonic Holdings Corp. is going to build a production base of new materials used in integrated circuit manufacturing in Suzhou New District (SND), according to an agreement signed on Mar. 21. Tang Xiaodong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Suzhou, attended the signing ceremony.
Since the establishment of Panasonic Industrial Devices Materials (Suzhou) Co., Ltd in 1994, Panasonic Holdings Corp., the world’s leading manufacturer of electronic products, has set up five branch enterprises in SND, covering a variety of fields such as new materials and new energy.
The project signed this time is planned to build a large-scale, automated and intelligent green factory with industry-leading production lines of energy-saving and environment-friendly new materials used in integrated circuit manufacturing with low conduction loss and good processing performance.
At present, Suzhou New District gathers more than 750 Japanese enterprises, including some of the world’s top 500 enterprises like Panasonic, Canon and Mitsubishi. In recent years, they have invested in a large number of projects in SND such as the artificial lens R&D and production base of Hooya Group and the Taiyo Ink China R&D Center.
