The 32nd International Conference on Adaptive Structures and Technologies (ICAST) opened in Suzhou’s Taicang City on Nov. 28.
The ICAST 2022 aims at promoting research, development and use of adaptive structures and technologies through the exchange of scientific results and insight from more than 1,000 leading international scholars and specialists from all over the world. The conference provides a forum for discussion of recent advances in the highly multidisciplinary field of smart materials and structures, and encourages transfer of advanced scientific results from research to application.
The International Conference on Adaptive Structures and Technologies is one of the most important international conferences in the field of smart materials and structures. Since its inception in 1990, the conference has been held by an institution of higher learning or a research institute in the Americas, Europe or the Asia-Pacific region every year. This year’s event is organized by Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and it features 89 lectures by specialists from 9 countries and regions.
In recent years, Taicang City has stepped up efforts to build an advanced material industrial cluster worth 100 billion yuan. It has 334 enterprises above the designated size in the field of advanced materials. At the ICAST 2022, representatives of the Taicang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and Chengxiang Town introduced the sound environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
