On May 7, the Gusu District Art Museum opened a special painting and calligraphy exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The 10-day exhibition features about 100 calligraphic works and paintings by more than 40 famous artists such as Zhang Jixin, Li Shaopeng and Shen Minyi. This is the first exhibition held in the Gusu District Art Museum after its redecoration.
Gusu District launched a solicitation of calligraphic works and paintings showcasing the history and achievements of the CPC early this year. The selected artworks displayed at the special exhibition show the rapid social development and urban changes in the district and express people’s love for the Party and the motherland.
At the event, many calligraphers and painters donated their works to the Gusu District Art Museum.
