Suzhou’s Wuzhong District has planned to renovate 23 old urban residential communities in 2021, involving a total of 4,223 households in 625 buildings with a construction area of 569,100 square meters. These projects have a total planned investment of about 280 million yuan and will be completed by the end of this year.
In the first quarter of 2021, Wuzhong District started the renovation of 6 old communities, with an investment of 54.34 million yuan, accounting for 19.4% of the total. During the rest of this year, the district will make all-out efforts to ensure that the 23 renovation projects will be completed on schedule with high quality.
In 2019, Suzhou was listed as one of the pilot cities for the transformation of old urban residential communities by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
