On Sept. 4, it was reported that Shushan Village in Tong’an Town, Suzhou High-tech Zone, was listed in the 2nd batch of national key villages for rural tourism. It is the only one of its kind in Suzhou.
Located at the northern foot of the Dayang Mountain, Shushan Village covers an area of 5.2 square kilometers and is home to 376 households with more than 1,700 residents. Last year, its income from agricultural and sideline products exceeded 55 million yuan and its collective economic income 9 million yuan.
In recent years, the village has given full play to its advantages in natural resources to boost rural tourism and further promote local economic development. It is striving to bring about rural revitalization through the integration of agriculture, tourism and culture.
