On the morning of Sept. 6, the 5th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale kicked off at Ligongdi Creative and Cultural Block of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).
Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of SIP, Jin Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and director of the Publicity Department, and Wang Yang, vice mayor of Suzhou, attended the opening ceremony.
As one of SIP’s major cultural events, the Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale has been held for four consecutive sessions and covers various fields such as sculpture, painting, image art, visual design and industrial art. This year’s biennale will last until Nov. 15. With Wu Weishan being the General Curator, the 70-day event features 8 theme exhibitions and 22 other exhibitions, coupled with various sideline activities such as theme forums and the “Mobile Museum” sightseeing bus tours.
